Sunday, July 12, 2015
there is a mini meet at Smallwood Village Pool in Waldorf.  It's a very nice mini meet. The swimmers swim against swimmers in their own age group.  Warm ups are at 7:30 am. It's a fun meet with ribbons for all.

We need entries and money from people going to the meet by July 6th. Swimmers can chose up to 4 events.

Parents bringing swimmers- we will need 2 people to help with the ribbons and 2 parents to time.

Congratulations  Lionfish!    Attached are the meet results.

Great meet despite the weather!

A special thanks to Mikhail Lee, Josh Piccoli, Zack Spain and Ben Zawislak for being the entire 15- 18 boys age group yesterday.

We travel to Hawthorne which is an easy trip from Calvert County.  Please let me know ASAP if your swimmer(s) will be away.  We were missing 39 swimmers at the last meet. I have 3 names already on my list of swimmers not attending next week's meet.

              ages 6-11

Hope to begin a "Novice Lite" - noncompetitive group

If there are other club teams holding tryouts this summer, please feel free to send me the information.

I do coach for NAAC from September to the end of May.

Awesome meet this past weekend!

We need some help next week with the 8 and under relay teams at the end of the meet. Your duty is easy, Hannah and I can explain what needs to be done. Basically, we need 2 parents with each relay team. Your job is to keep the kids in the correct lane and tell them when to get into the water. Hannah and I are not supposed to be on deck with the relay teams. You can not coach the kids in any manner. We will need 6 parents.

Practice this week is from 7 pm- 8:30 pm.
There is a Cub Scout day camp this week at KL so our practice was moved.

NO PRACTICE ON FRIDAY

We travel to Greenbelt this coming Saturday. Swimmers must be at the pool by 7:30 am

Go to PMSL webpage and you will see a tab on the side for directions to all pools. Please let me know ASAP if your swimmer(s) will miss this meet.

TEAM T-shirt TIME!  Let the other teams know who we are!

Greetings all.  Please find the link below for ordering Tee Shirts.

Shirt choices include adult and children sizes.  Material is the same as last year, fast drying light weight.  The most negative feedback I received is that the ladies felt the white shirts were a little to see-through, so I've given the option of the white shirts again, but also kelly green and purple.  You will pay directly online, so I do not need to collect money this year.  I will deliver shirts once they are in.  I can't promise that we will have them before the first meet.  The deadline for ordering, is Friday, June 19.  This is a strict deadline, so please get your orders in ASAP.  I may or may not order extras, I have not decided yet.

the link to order is

Thanks to everyone who helped last night at time trials.   Typical June weather for us in the evening unfortunately.  My line up will go to the other team later this week and everyone should receive an emailed copy of the line up-  Swimmers will know their events. Heat and lane assignments will be posted on Saturday morning at the meet.

Meeting last night
We need volunteers to run a meet. Please volunteer for a job. Our first home meet is June 20.  Parents who are familiar with summer swim meets please help the parents who are new to Kings Landing.

Please let me know if your swimmer will not be at the first meet. We have 20 swimmers away on June 20.

No practice on Friday, June 12, 2015

If you still need a team suit you can call Swim Pro or go to Swim outlet .com and order a green suit or a black suit with green trim on the side. This year the team is wearing the TYR Viper.  No club caps  or club team suits are worn at the meet. If you have not received a Kings Landing cap, please see Hannah or me.

Swimmers who have not been to a practice by June 17 will not be in the first meet. Club swimmers are excluded. These swimmers have kept in touch with me.

Our first morning practice will be Friday, June 19. 9-10:30 for the older swimmers and 10:30-11:30 for the younger swimmers.  Please try to make this practice so we can run some events and practice our relays .

TIME TRIALS  June 15
Monday evening everyone needs to report to practice by 4:50 for time trials. We will run the events in a swim meet to get times for those swimmers who have no idea how fast they swim.
Swimmers- if you can not make the practice send your times to me if you have them. Please identify if the time was from a yards or meters meet.  Parents are needed to help run this adventure in swimming.

Times are needed for :

8 and younger for 25 free, back and breast
   9-10 yr  olds:    50 free, 25 back, 25 breast and 25 fly
11- 13 yr  olds  :50  yd  for each stroke  and 100 IM
15-18  yr  olds  : 50 for fly, back, breast, 100 free and 100 IM

Please don't panic if your swimmer can not make time trials on Monday. We can get a time later.

I want to begin at 5 pm or shortly after. We'll begin with breaststroke and end with backstroke. If there is time we will time the IM ( Individual Medley- each swimmer swims 25 yds of fly, back, breast and free).

Finally, it looks like the week of June 22- June 26 we will practice in the evening at Kings Landing. There is a Cub Scout Day camp that week and they have swimming activities in the morning.

Timers  - good spot to see all events
Sweep judges
runner- picks up sheets from timers
Set up - this will happen Friday evening at 7pm on Friday June 19 - The more people we have, the faster we finish.  We need people to help move all the chairs on the deck.

June 20- Please notify me now if your swimmer will not be at the meet June 20.  This is our first meet of the season and it takes me several hours to set up the line up for the first meet.
I have to have the line up completed by Wednesday evening , June 17. Our line up has to be submitted on Thursday June 18. Please send me an email, don't tell me at practice. I'll never remember!

Updates, Suit information

Day 2 of our season-

I'm still missing email addresses so please contact your friends to see if they have the current update.  I should have  the final list tonight.

Swim Pro will be at the pool from 4:45- 6:30 tonight with team suits and goggles.

Tonight- we are at Hall Aquatic Center in Prince Frederick. The 10 and younger swimmers will practice from 5-6 and the older swimmers should be at the pool by 5:45.
